This policy explains what information Kynkra collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Kynkra, you agree to the practices described here, alongside our Terms of Use.
Your role, orientation, and kink preferences are sensitive personal information by nature. We collect it only because it's the basis of Kynkra's matching, and only with your explicit action (filling in these fields yourself during registration or editing). It is shown to other members only according to the visibility rules of the relevant field and your photo privacy settings — most of your profile stays hidden from someone until you both like each other.
Some features — screening uploaded photos and generating the written "why we recommend this match" reasoning for Special Find suggestions — are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. The specific photo or profile text involved is sent to Anthropic for that single request; it is not used by Anthropic to train models, and is handled under Anthropic's own data processing terms.
We do not use your information for anything beyond running and improving Kynkra as described in this policy. We don't sell your information, we don't rent it, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it to build a profile of you for marketing outside Kynkra — under any circumstances. We use a small number of service providers, each bound by their own confidentiality and data-processing obligations, to operate Kynkra:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public. Outside of that and the providers listed above, your information stays with Kynkra.
Every provider above is based in, or stores data in, the United States. That means your information leaves the European Economic Area. Each of them is engaged under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which is the mechanism that makes such a transfer lawful and obliges them to protect your data to a European standard wherever it sits.
Two of those transfers are worth naming plainly, because they involve the most sensitive things here. Photos you submit for screening or verification are sent to Anthropic for that single request and are not retained by them or used to train their models. What you write about yourself is sent the same way when a match explanation is generated. Neither is ever sent for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than the one described.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, messages, and other personal data, except where we're legally required to retain limited records (for example, to investigate an active safety report).
One thing survives deletion, and it is worth naming rather than leaving under "limited records": a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address. It cannot be read back, mailed, or matched to anything else — it exists only so the same address cannot be re-registered for five days, which is what stops a deletion being used to escape a block or a report. It is deleted along with everything else once that window has passed.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can act on most of this directly from Settings; for anything else, contact us at privacy@kynkra.com.
Two of those you can exercise without asking anyone. Settings has a button that downloads everything we hold about you as a file, and another that deletes your account outright — no form, no waiting on a reply from us.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection supervisory authority. In Hungary that is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu); elsewhere it is the authority for the country you live in. You do not have to raise it with us first, though we would rather you did.
Kynkra uses a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Private photos are served only through authenticated requests that check your relationship to the photo's owner (match status, follow status, or album visibility) before returning the image.
Kynkra is strictly for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we'll delete the account and associated data.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.
